The political and social agendas of Poland “are well run, because my colleagues from the Law and Justice [party] and myself are implementing our electoral programmes,” Duda said on Thursday while meeting voters in the west of the country.

Duda is a former MEP of the PiS party, which came to power in October. He won the presidential election in May with pledges of lowering the retirement age in the country and introducing aid for mortgage holders in foreign currencies.

“I want to assure you that these programmes will be carried out calmly and consistently,” he added.

“The state is committed to completing this programme,” Duda said. “You have chosen us, and it is our responsibility.”

Referring to the current crisis surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal, which has in recent months blocked key reforms by the government, Duda said: "We will not allow ourselves to be stopped simply because of a group of people associated with the former government, who think that they are stopping the whole process of change,” Duda said.
