Polish Deputy Defence Minister Bartosz Kownacki said two bidders applied for the tender. These were France’s Dassault Aviation and Gulfstream. The former “did not meet the formal requirements”, leaving only the US aeronautics company in the running.

The planes which Poland is set to purchase are the Gulfstream G-550 model, Kownacki said.

According to Aviation Week, the jets sell for around USD 61.5 million each.

Poland had issued a tender for two VIP planes capable of carrying at least 14 passengers and luggage. The planes will carry top government officials. (rg/pk)
