On Christmas Eve and Christmas day, there were 103 accidents, which killed seven people and injured 137, said a statement issued by the headquarters of the police, adding that 340 drunk drivers were apprehended.

The numbers were lower than in the same period last year.

Monday 26 December, known in Poland as St. Stephen's Day, is a public holiday in the country. (rg)
