A statement issued by police said that evidence points to a 15-year-old girl who left the pepper-spray can in the school’s bathroom on Thursday.
The statement said that a total of 37 high-school students complained of headaches and other illnesses, while 31 were taken to hospital.
All of the 260 students at the school, as well as over 20 staff, were evacuated from the building.
The 15-year-old girl will likely face a local family court over the coming days, the statement said. (rg/pk)
