Nine-year-old with cut to neck

Police have apprehended a suspect after receiving a report of a nine-year-old boy with a cut to the neck on the night between Sunday and Monday, private broadcaster RMF24 said on its website.

A police spokeswoman told public broadcaster TVP Info that ambulance officers called in that the boy received surgery and was in a stable condition.
According to the police spokeswoman, the child was being cared for by his intoxicated mother at the time, “but the circumstances of the incident are still being determined, [police] are interviewing witnesses”. (vb)
