The head of the Polish President's Cabinet, Krzysztof Szczerski, said that Steinmeier and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda will discuss the future of the European Union, as well as ways of maintaining unity in the bloc after the UK leaves the union.

Other topics will be the development of the Weimar Triangle group – made up of Poland, Germany and France.

Both presidents will also discuss the conflict in Ukraine in the context of the 2014 Minsk agreement on a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, as well as relations with the United States in connection with next week's NATO summit in Brussels, Szczerski said. (rg/pk)
