Singaporean president signs bilateral agreements in Warsaw

Polish President Andrzej Duda and his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan Keng Yam on Monday signed three bilateral agreements to promote business and technology.

“We want the scope of our economic cooperation to expand in different parts of the world. Singapore is one of these countries,” Duda said.
The first ever visit of the President of Singapore to Poland is an important element in the development of Poland's economic presence in the world, Duda added.
According to the head of the president's cabinet, Krzysztof Szczerski, the first memorandum is related to cooperation between Poland's National Centre for Research and Development and the Singaporean Agency for Science, Technology and Research, which will make it possible for scientists from the two countries to collaborate.
Another memorandum signed related to strengthening ties between the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Singaporean Business Federation to promote Polish investments and entrepreneurs in Singapore. The third agreement was between PAIH and the International Enterprise Singapore, an institution supporting Singaporean business around the world.
On Tuesday, the Singaporean president will meet Senate Speaker Stanislaw Karczewski. (rg)
