Firefighters were called out more than 750 times between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning after downpours flooded buildings and fierce winds knocked down trees, blocking roads and taking out power lines.
Some 4,500 firefighters were involved in clearing up the damage.
Meanwhile, the fire department warns of further storms and gale force winds in Poland’s south on Thursday. (vb/pk)
