Four firefighters were among the injured, fire brigade spokesman Paweł Frątczak told journalists.

The emergency services have carried out 10,000 interventions since Thursday. They were called out to remove toppled trees blocking roads and rail tracks and to pump out water from flooded buildings. Over 48,000 firefighters were involved in such efforts.

The most damage was recorded between the northern Kujawsko-Pomorskie and eastern Lubelskie provinces, Frątczak added. (aba/pk)
