The study by pollster IBRiS found that Duda would gain the support of 36.2 percent of voters.

European Council President Donald Tusk, a former Polish prime minister, would gain 20.5 percent support.

Robert Biedroń, the high-profile mayor of Słupsk in northern Poland, is in third place, backed by 16.3 percent, the survey found.

The poll of 1,100 voters was conducted on 26 and 27 July.

Duda was elected president in May 2015 for a five-year term.
