Traffic police and intervention patrols will be equipped with such portable devices, Błaszczak said in an interview for state broadcaster Polish Radio.

Footage recorded by the cameras is to serve as “conclusive evidence, which will resolve whether the law has been infringed,” he added.

Błaszczak said that the cameras will be an “objective tool” that will also help “discipline police”.

Law enforcers are to start testing the cameras in November. It is not yet known when the devices will become standard equipment for Polish patrols. (aba/pk)
