Krzysztof Suprowicz, the ambassador to Qatar since 2014, allegedly cooperated with the Military Internal Service (WSW), armed military police set up in Poland in 1957, according to TVP.

The broadcaster said the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) recently declassified information about Suprowicz's ties to WSW.

The IPN is in charge of prosecuting crimes committed against the Polish nation by Nazi and communist powers and holds the archives of communist-era police and secret services.

Suprowicz declined to comment whether the recently-revealed information was linked to his dismissal, TVP said. (vb/pk)
