Polish air force jet crashes near Warsaw

The pilot ejected and survived the crash, which happened at around 5pm on Monday near the small town of Kałuszyn.

The pilot was found conscious by foresters and firefighters, and then taken to hospital in Warsaw, public broadcaster Polish Radio reported.

Air accident investigators were sent to the scene to probe the incident. Military police and prosecutors were also to investigate the crash.

Polish Radio cited an air force officer as saying that the 28-year-old pilot’s life was not in danger.

Training flights on MiG-29 planes were suspended after the incident, Polish Radio reported.
