The presidential car may have lost tyre pressure after hitting the strip which separated the road from tram tracks, according to SOP, which is charged with protecting Poland's top officials.

President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda continued their trip from Kraków to nearby Bochnia in another car.

Police said SOP officers were also unharmed.

Duda had been in Kraków for a meeting with its local Jewish community and was travelling to Bochnia, which was expected to award the president honorary citizenship. (vb/pk)
