The charity, which is affiliated to the Catholic Church, plans to donate the food to kids from child shelters, to large families, single parents, and homeless, sick and poor people before Easter.

Volunteers will on Friday and Saturday be collecting food with a long shelf life at retail chains across the country.

Caritas particularly wants flour, sugar, pasta, rice, corn flakes, oil, canned food, tea and sweets, which will be delivered in packages to the needy.
