Poland’s central audit office (NIK) warned that such practices could have put patients’ life in danger, the PAP news agency reported on Friday.

Auditors said, however, that hospitals had reacted quickly after being informed of the potential risk to patients.

The audit office carried out checks in 24 hospitals across Poland between 2015 and 2017, scrutinising their pharmacies and pharmacology departments.
