Polish police bust suspected drugs gang

Police said on Friday they have busted a suspected gang believed to have set up a drug smuggling route from various EU countries to Poland.

Officers from the Police Central Investigation Bureau (CBŚP) in the town of Chełm, eastern Poland, seized 15 litres of amphetamine in liquid form, 2,000 ecstasy tablets, as well as marijuana and cocaine.
The drugs are estimated to be worth nearly PLN 3 million (USD 885,000, EUR 720,000).
Two people were detained and charged with smuggling. The suspects face up to 15 years in jail if convicted.
