Middle-school students took history, civic studies and Polish tests on Wednesday.

They will sit for their science and maths exams on Thursday and take foreign language tests on Friday.

Students will get their results on June 15. These will help determine which high school they will attend.

Next year will be the last to see the exams as middle schools are being phased out under an education reform launched in September 2017.

As of September 2019, students will attend eight years of elementary school and four years of high school or five years of vocational school. (vb/pk)
