New football stadium for Poland’s Szczecin

A new football stadium will be built in the northwestern Polish city of Szczecin by the end of 2021, officials have announced.

The PLN 250 million (EUR 60 million, USD 72 million) facility will serve the local premier-league club Pogoń Szczecin, which is marking 70 years in existence.
Work on the project will begin once a general contractor is selected through a tender that Szczecin City Hall plans to announce in July, according to Mayor Piotr Krzystek.
In addition to the stadium, a training centre for children and young footballers will be built as part of the project.
