Between January and April, 150 percent more Poles travelled to the Middle Eastern country compared to the same period in 2016, according to the website, which cited figures from the Israeli tourism ministry.

“We hope that in a few years, half a million Polish tourists will visit Israel annually,” Israel’s Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevi was cited as saying by WP.

An extensive flight connection network and promotional campaigns in Poland are some of the key reasons behind the growing popularity of Israel as a tourism destination among Poles, according to WP.

“This year we will spend PLN 6 million (EUR 1.39m, USD 1.61m) on advertising in Poland,” Halevi was quoted by the WP website as saying.
