Police have detained a man who threatened to set fire to the office of an opposition MP in the central Polish city of Łódź.

The 42-year-old man made the threat over the phone to a worker at the Civic Platform party’s regional office, police spokeswoman Joanna Kącka said.
Police found the suspect a few hours later.
According to police, he has made similar threats in the past. He faces up to two years in jail.
