The museum’s modern display looks at the rebuilding of the Polish republic post-WWI, after 123 years of partitions and foreign rule.

An interactive table portrays some of the statesmen who were instrumental in the country regaining independence, while holograms will bring to life landscapes and artefacts significant to Poland's history.

Stations inside the museum feature touch screens which allow the visitor to delve deeper into the aspects of Polish independence they find most interesting.

The museum also has information on some of Poland's greatest scientific, sporting and cultural accomplishments.

The museum will be open to visitors in Warsaw outside the Presidential Palace until Friday before embarking on a journey to 56 locations across the country.

Poland marks its centenary of independence on November 11, when it reemerged on the map as a sovereign country in 1918 after 123 years of partition by Russia, Austria and Prussia. (vb/pk)
