If parliamentary elections were held this Sunday, Poland’s ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party would win 42.3 percent of the vote, according to a poll.

Pollster Estymator said support for the party, which swept to power in 2015, increased by 1.6 percentage points from a similar survey a month ago.

Meanwhile, the Civic Platform (PO), the country’s largest opposition party, can count on 25.2 percent support, a drop of 2.7 percentage points from a month earlier, according to the survey, which was commissioned by the dorzeczy.pl website.

The 5-percent threshold required for entering parliament would be exceeded by four other parties, the survey found, among the Democratic Left Alliance, which is now outside parliament.

The survey was conducted on June 27 and 28 on a representative sample of 1,005 adult Poles, using computer-assisted telephone interviews.
