A level-three heatwave warning -- the highest possible -- has been issued for the western Lubuskie region.
Level-two warnings have been issued for the rest of the country.
Poland has been sweltering under a series of hot spells since late spring, but Thursday was expected to see the mercury climb further in what could prove to be the warmest day of the year so far.
A heatwave that has affected much of Europe is causing a wide range of problems in Poland, including drought.
