The incident occurred as President Andrzej Duda was being carried to meet residents in the southern city of Oświęcim.

Presidential spokesman Błażej Spychalski told public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency that the boy was immediately provided with medical attention.

Spychalski also said that the president stopped the motorcade and stepped out of his car.

Duda approached the boy and he also instructed his aides to contact the boy's parents, according to Spychalski.

The boy was taken to a hospital where it turned out that he had suffered a bruised knee in the incident, the spokesman said.
