Film director Wajda 'not ill'

The Super Express tabloid reported this morning that the 86 year-old director was rushed to the Cardiology Wing of Warsaw's Bielanski hospital.

But the hospital says that Wajda is fine.

“Andrzej Wajda is not ill in hospital in Warsaw but was in for tests. He is now at home and everything is fine,” says hospital spokeswoman Monika Lang.

Wajda has suffered from heart problems before, however, and was taken ill last September during the European Congress of Culture in Wroclaw, western Poland. (pg)
