The Central Statistical Office (GUS) has published 2Q figures showing Poland’s GDP growth standing at 1.1 per cent.
This marks an 0.3 percent increase on first quarter results.
GUS has also informed on the public sector deficit for 2008, which stands at 3.6 per cent of the GDP. Public debt was calculated at 47.2 percent of the GDP.
According to Finance Ministry forecasts this year’s deficit of central and territorial government institutions will top the 6 per cent level, while public debt may exceed 51 per cent. (ss)
