Economic analysts at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch & Co. have increased the previous predictions for Poland's GDP growth for 2009 and 2010 to 1.8 percent and 3.5 percent respectively.
Previously, before third quarter growth statistics were announced, the American financial agency predicted that Poland's economy will grow by 1.1 percent in 2009 and only 2 percent in 2010.
“Poland has one of Europe's largest economies which has avoided the recession, not only showing higher GDP growth,” reads the Bank of America-Merrill Lynch report.
Economists at the institution maintain that the tempo of growth has also sped up to exceed expectations and expect that growth from the third to fourth quarter 2009 will measure 2-3 percent. The first six months of 2009 saw 1 percent GDP growth. (mmj)
