The Czech parliament will debate, Wednesday, whether to add troops to the multinational force in Afghanistan, reinforcing the Polish contingent in the Ghazni province.
It was confirmed earlier today by the Polish government that the US would also be contributing 800 to 1000 troops, to be put under Polish military command in the province.
Defense Minister Bogdan Klich said Poland’s southern neighbors would reinforce the Polish contingent in Ghazni province as well.
“International military cooperation in Ghazni is gaining strength. An American battalion is to operate east of the main ‘Ohio route’ linking Kabul with Kandahar. The Czech side has signaled readiness to send a group of soldiers plus hardware to Ghazni to work with our men,” he told Polskie Radio. (ss/pg)
