Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall met with the beneficiaries of Youth Business International, an organization assisting young entrepreneurs and founded by the Prince of Wales on the last day of his trip to Poland.
Organised at the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the event provided an opportunity for the heir to the British throne to meet with young entrepreneurs who have received financial support or technical assistance from the organization.
The meeting also allowed young people to show their gratitude, says Kamila Kaszkiel, from the Polish chapter of Youth Business International:
"It went really well,” she said after meeting the Prince. “Everyone is really content as it was a great experience for our entrepreneurs to thank Princes Charles personally for being able to participate in the programme. There were also mentors who received certificates for the support for young businessmen."
Youth Business International grants assistance to young entrepreneurs who are either setting up their own businesses or have been running them for less than three years. Established over 20 years ago, the organization has been operating in Poland since 2006. It has so far helped up to 100,000 entrepreneurs in 38 countries across the globe.
The agenda of the royal couple’s three-day tour around Poland included a meeting with the Tatar community in Kruszyniany and a visit to the Białowieża primeval forest in eastern Poland, a meeting with the 1st Armoured Brigade on the outskirts of Warsaw.
The visit comes as part of a longer, nine-day trip, encompassing Hungary and the Czech Republic. (ab/pg)
