Flu attacks Poland

A rising number of Poles are suffering flu symptoms and four have died after contracting the AH1N1 virus.

The AH1N1 virus has claimed a fourth victim in Poland and the number of those suffering flu-like symptoms has increased dramatically. The Health Ministry says that since September, 107,000 Poles have succumbed to the flu virus. Health Minister Ewa Kopacz announced yesterday that it is evident that the swine flu virus has established itself in Poland, as has seasonal flu, both of which are highly contagious.

    Do you really believe in what you say? Or do you say it just because its critical of Poland?

    As Tomek and Dr. Ted touched upon the common flu kills much more people than swine flu. Yet somehow you want governments to spend billions of dollars on a fairly harmless threat. If governments are to spend billions of dollars every time people like you panic, we'll all go broke. You really worried about this? Save us some money, and buy yourself a bio-suit and wear it at all times. I don't want my tax dollars spent because of your irrational fear.     Maciej Skiba

  • Norman 20.11.2009 11:42 Normal flu kills the old folks who are already weak. Swine flu kills younger people especially prgnant women and young children. Let's face the truth..medical decisions are now taken by the finance minister...not the health minister. How else do you explain her stupid excuses for inaction! It doesn't cost millions to vaccinate those most at risk especially her own healthcare workers. Norman
  • CZAREK 20.11.2009 19:57 This new plague that's coming from Ukrain is totally different ball game. It has been spread by low flying planes, same thing happening near Bialystok.
