Polish plane’s forced landing in Afghanistan

Military plane C-130 Hercules has made an emergency landing in Mazar-e Sharif in Afghanistan on its way back to Poland, the Polish Air Force reported.  

 

The emergency landing was forced by a technical fault.  

Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft, first used in 1956. It is a versatile plane which can be used for troop, medical and cargo transport as well for scientific research and aerial firefighting. Poland will receive five Hercules’ by the end of 2010 as part of the Foreign Military Financing programme. (mg)
