Jadwiga Kaczynska, mother of President Lech Kaczynski, is in intensive care and doctors say her condition is “very serious”.

President Kaczynski cut short a visit to Lithuania, March 11, after his 83 year-old mother was admitted to a cardiology ward at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw. Last Wednesday, reports Super Express, she was moved to intensive care, unconscious, and is now breathing with the assistance of a respiratory machine.

“There is no contact with her - her state is very serious,” said her physician, Dr. Wojciech Lubiński,

The president has reduced his duties so he, and his twin brother Jaroslaw - leader of the Law and Justice party - can be at her bedside. (pg)
