Polish MPs of the parliamentary group for Tibet have written a letter to the Chinese ambassador in Poland requesting immediate release of persons arrested during recent protests, as well as of all political prisoners from Tibet.
They also called for China to come back to talks with representatives of the spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama.
The letter authors remind that according to NGOs, a series of peaceful protests held in the capital of Tibet between 10-13 March were crushed by Chinese security services. Many people were arrested.
Polish parliamentarians stressed that because of the lack of progress in China's attitude to human rights and because of the growing repression against Tibet, it is not too late for an international boycott of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
