A team of senators and MPs who want to act for the democratic change in Cuba was set up in the Lower House.
The team comprises members of various political parties who support the democratic transformations in Cuba, demand respect for human rights in the country and freedom for political prisoners. The team has also addressed Poland’s foreign minister to approach the EU with a project of lifting EU sanctions against Cuba.
Since taking over power by Raul Castro, the brother of Fidel Castro, certain changes had been introduced, like the lifting of equal wages for all employees regardless of their profession, or lifting the ban on sales of products such as mobile phones or computers. The changes, say the members of the parliamentary team, are only superficial.
