The economic crisis in the European Union has led to the destruction of millions of jobs and the youth are among the worst affected. In Spain, younth unemployment hit 39.6 precent in 2009 up from 19.1 percent two years earlier. Post-Celtic Tiger Ireland is also noticing the problem of high unemployment hitting especially the young.
