We meet Mariusz Czerkawski - the first person born and trained in Poland to play in the NHL!

 

Born on 13 April 1972 in Radomsko near Łódź he played for the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League. In addition to playing in the NHL Czerkawski also played for several European teams.  Last summer he announced his retirement from professional hockey.
