Chopin at the Opera

In this week’s Focus: Steven Harrison, who sings the lead part in Wrocław Opera’s production of Giacomo Orefice’s Chopin.

US-born lyric tenor Steven Harrison is also an accomplished pianist and oboe player.  This year he has returned to the Wrocław stage after his performance in the opera’s 2009 production of Saint-Saens’s  Sanson et Dalila. From Wrocław he goes on to sing Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at the New York City Opera.

Elżbieta Krajewska spoke to the tenor after the premiere performance of Chopin at Wrocław Opera, although the interview started off somewhat in the dark…
