Poland is sixth most attractive country in the world for foreign investments.
Danuta Isler reports
Poland has moved to the 6th slot in the FDI confidence index chart of global consultancy firm AT Kearney for 2009, up from 22nd slot two years ago while China has continued its lead over the US to maintain the No. 1 slot for another year in a row.
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Confidence Index is a survey conducted by AT Kearney from 1998. The study involves managerial staff of top 1000 companies in the world that receive more than 2 trillion of annual income. According to its 2009 results, Poland jumped from the 22nd it occupied in 2007 to the 6th slot. It still lags behind China, the US, India, Brazil and Germany, but ranks above Australia, Mexico, Canada, the UK and the United Arab Emirates. It also ranked well above other countries in the region: the Czech Republic placed 17th while Romania ranked 16th. Experts say they do not find such results surprising given that Poland was one of the very few countries worldwide to offer investors stability during the global economic crisis.
