Robert Kubica was third fastest in the first practice session of the Formula 1 season, in Bahrain, Friday morning.
Kubica was behind Ferrari's Fernando Alonso Force India's Adrian Sutil ahead of the Grand Prix on Sunday.
In the second practice, however, Kubica slipped to 15 th place.
Earlier at a press conference, when asked how the new Renault team were shaping up for the 2010 season, Kubica was noncommittal.
“At the moment it is quite difficult to judge where we are, and where we will be,” said Poland first ever F1 driver. “To be honest, I have no clear idea where we stand at this moment. Of course we have seen some things at the tests. I think we were very good in Jerez, but in Barcelona we didn’t do so well, so that makes it very difficult to give a proper judgement. […] In my eyes we definitely need to wait until after a couple of races to see where everybody is. A good start to the season would help though.”
Kubica joined Renault late last year after BMW Sauber pulled out of F1 sponsorship. (pg)
