The Polish-Croatian duo beat China’s Zhang Shuai and Australia’s John Peers 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 in a semifinal on Wednesday.

Rosolska and Mektić will take on Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States and Britain’s Jamie Murray in the championship match on Saturday.

Rosolska, 32, has never before made the finals of a Grand Slam tournament.

Mattek-Sands and Murray have each won Grand Slam mixed doubles titles with different partners. Murray won the US Open mixed doubles title last year with Switzerland's Martina Hingis.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Łukasz Kubot and Brazil's Marcelo Melo have reached the men’s doubles semifinals at the US Open.
